OCTOBER NEWS-LETTER
Coffee, Cars & a Little Chaos
September delivered a bit of everything - drama, new events, mishaps, coffee-fuelled catchups, and even a cheeky curry. The weather might not have played ball, but the DR!VE CO community more than made up for it.
The Not-So-Supercar Sunday
The plan was simple: an early-morning blast to the Welsh Supercar Show in Pembrey. The weather had other ideas.
A fine group met at glamorous Port Talbot in the drizzle - cold air, damp roads, and Cup 2 tyres! Not ten miles in, just as we hit the first mountain pass. A light touch on a damp white line, a split second snap, and a polite introduction to a barrier. Game over- lesson learned.
Luckily, the damage was minor (and the ego repairable).
The rest of the crew carried on, tackling some sketchy conditions of their own – with a tame cruise! I rejoined the day at Pembrey… only in a VW Crafter instead of the GT4. Not exactly the same, but we made it!
Repairs, Refresh & New Rubber
Post-incident, the GT4 got some much-needed TLC from the team at Diamond Alloys Wales Ltd. They delivered a flawless refurb and colour change - from Satin Aurum to Satin Black- and honestly, it looks so good. A little more subtle, a lot more purposeful.
Big thanks to Matt and the team - highly recommend them for anything wheel or tyre related. While we were at it, the Cup 2s made way for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. If you know, you know.
LOWE Classics x Ignition Shed — New Coffee, New Cars, Same Chaos
Our good friends Ollie at LOWE Classics and Ash at SMG Motorsport hosted an open day to celebrate the launch of Ignition Shed, their brand-new coffee house on site. It’s the perfect combo.
Naturally, we turned it into another drive-out. Starting again from Port Talbot (yes, that road), now on the new rubber, we covered a 175-mile route through mountain passes and some of Wales’ finest tarmac.
After a not-so-quick breakfast at the infamous Honey Café in Brecon, we made our way to LOWE. The turnout was incredible - a wide mix of cars, great coffee, and loads of familiar faces.
The day ended with a spontaneous detour to Porsche Centre Newport for a coffee and a nose around some dream machines, including a new GT3 RS belonging to one of our DR!VE regulars. What. A. Car..
Cars. Coffee. Coast.
Our first Cars & Coffee event went way better than expected - and that’s saying something considering the forecast!
We released 70 tickets, not knowing if there’d be any appetite for it… turns out there definitely was. From worrying no one would show up, to working with The Lighthouse to accommodate everyone, the excitement was real - until the Sunday forecast hit: heavy rain.
The messages started rolling in - “Is it still on?”, “Are you cancelling?” - but we decided to roll with it. Worst case, a few of us grab coffee, swap stories, and get soaked.
I’m so glad we did. 22 absolute legends (a few less cars!) showed up, and it couldn’t have been a better way to launch our monthly meet.
We’ll be running Cars. Coffee. Coast. on the third Sunday of every month, rain or shine. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made the first one so special.
Baffle & Curry
A few of us headed to Baffle Haus on Friday 17th October for their Braap-wurst German-themed event - and as always, the team absolutely nailed it.
The vibe, the setup, the people - Baffle just get it right every single time.
On the way home, a few of us ventured to a local curry house for what turned out to be one of the best curries in a long time
Rally Day — Coming Up Fast
For those signed up to the Rally Driving Day, it’s nearly here.
All Twelve driving slots are filled! If they hand out black flags, I’ve got a feeling we’ll see a few flying on November 12th.
Expect stories (and maybe some spin-outs) and pictures in next month’s update.
2026 — Big Year Loading…
The Dragon Rally 2026 is officially sold out and the route is locked in - our 4th edition and shaping up to be the best yet.
And then there’s September 2026... Negotiations with councils (Swansea and a few others) are still ongoing, so details remain under wraps - but trust me, this is going to be massive. Keep that month free.
Cars. Coffee. Coast. in Bracelet Bay, is now a monthly date to be put in calendars, every third Sunday of the month.
And that’s not all - we’re planning Cars & Coffee pop-ups across the UK next year to grow the DR!VE Co community and chase the best driving roads in the country. More on the exciting locations dropping in the new year.
Finally, we’re putting the finishing touches on our first range of DR!VE Co merchandise. This isn’t throwaway merch - it’s been designed to reflect what we’re about: subtle, quality, and built for the enthusiasts. First drops coming ready for Christmas!
Cars & Curry - Season Finale Incoming
To mark the end of the 2025 season, we’re planning something a little different - Cars & Curry Night.
Think good food, good chat, and a final excuse to get the cars out before winter really hits. No early alarms, no maps to follow - just a chilled evening with fellow enthusiasts, talking all things DR!VE CO and what’s to come in 2026.
Full details will be announced soon - but pencil it in for November!
Welcome to the New Crew
A warm welcome to all our new members who’ve joined in the past month. The DR!VE Co ethos stays the same - no egos, no boy racers, just good vibes. Cars, community, and a shared love for driving.
Let’s keep spreading positivity and passion in car culture.
Make Car Geeks Great Again.
See you on the road…
